As part of the ongoing military family housing upgrades at Naval Base San Diego, the CY‑22 capital expenditure program focused on whole-house revitalization across the Murphy Canyon housing district, which includes over 2,300 family housing units-making it the largest military housing site in the San Diego region. The effort involved comprehensive renovation of kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as window replacements, insulated finishes, fence and patio upgrades, and improved landscaping across multiple phases of the development. Energy-efficient heating and air conditioning systems were installed in each unit to meet updated performance and sustainability standards, extending the useful life of existing homes while enhancing resident comfort and utility savings.
