Brief Summary:
Under direct supervision, prepare detailed CAD drawings for construction projects, create and coordinate 3D model for HVAC systems.
Specific Duties – include the following. Other duties may be assigned depending on department and requirements of position.
- Prepares detailed shop drawings for projects.
- Coordinates construction design with all trades.
- Attends and participates in coordination meetings.
- Converts red line drawings into As-Built
- Efficiently and accurately drafts details from rough sketches provided by Project Managers, Supervisors and Superintendents.
- Files and maintains drawings for fast retrieval when needed.

Qualification:
- College degree or vocational courses in related field, plus 3-5 years’ hands-on experience
- 3D BIM experience (modeling equipment sheet metal systems in REVIT)
- 3D or 2D CAD experience with certification and experience in construction
- 2D coordination experience (determining optimal ductwork route by overlaying architectural structural and MEP drawings in Blue Beam)
- Able to create computerized conceptual designs and layouts, where at times, there is only a limited amount of pre-established design information available
- Able to create detailed shop drawings, and submittal documents of a mechanical HVAC system for a particular project
- Must be able to conduct official reviews, markups, and request for revisions on behalf of the company design documentation for a particular project
- Familiar with the applicable codes for a particular project
- Solicit, generate, review and/or finalize the selection criteria during the preconstruction phase of a project in conjunction with the Estimating Department for the major equipment and/or major subcontractor(s)
- Requires good verbal and written communication and the ability to self-initiate activities, coordinate tasks and manage projects with strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Requires strong customer service, excellent people skills and ability to build and maintain positive, supportive working relationships while maintaining an approachable and friendly demeanor
- Requires the ability to gain cooperation of others and work in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, flexibly and responsively while working with competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficient computer skills with CAD and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Photo Shop, PowerPoint) and the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and create reports.
Requirements
- Education/Certifications:Technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent field experience preferred.
- Experience Level:Experience with HVAC systems and construction projects
- Technical Skills:Strong understanding of ductwork, piping, and mechanical systems
- Soft Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam preferred.

- Pay Range:$35.00-$42.00 per hour
