Sam Shekhter - President/CEO
Sam Shekhter holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Refrigeration Systems. His 25 years of management experience are highlighted by his consistent ability to turn high gross profits. His sales and negotiation skills are renowned in the industry. Sam is best known as the man who, in 1978, took a small family-owned business with four employees and built it into a major force in the industry with over $30 million gross annual sales and over 200 employees. He brought this wealth of experience with him when he formed Atlas Mechanical, Inc. Under Sam’s leadership, Atlas provides quality service from installation through warranty and maintenance. His well-capitalized company has bonding capacity with an A+ rated company and an adequate line of credit as a source of additional working capital. Mr. Shekhter is a member of good standing of the Associated Builders & Contractors, ASHRAE, Association of General Contractors and holds State Contracting Licenses in California and Nevada.
Sergey V. Levinson - Executive Vice President/COO
Sergey Levinson holds Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Refrigeration Systems, an advanced degree in Cryogenic and Refrigeration techniques, and 11 years of experience in designing, building and testing equipment for Cryogenic plants with HVAC systems, Sergey Levinson brings a wealth of knowledge to Atlas Mechanical, Inc. Starting at Atlas Mechanical in 1992 as purchasing agent, Sergey has rapidly advanced to Vice President of Estimating and Pre-Construction, Executive Vice President/COO. In his current position as Executive Vice President/COO, Sergey has developed a company-wide, fully integrated computerized system of estimating. This process allows for seamless transitions from design to construction implementation. With this program, Atlas Mechanical’s ability to bid competitively and maintain cost effectiveness has raised the bar for the entire industry. Sergey is personally responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising Atlas Mechanical’s Estimating Department. He ensures that the company’s goals are met through Design/Build, estimating and budgeting, cost management planning and scheduling, diversified control systems and practices, as well as data processing & management information systems.
Jim Clarke - Vice President of Construction/Division Manager
Jim Clarke has over 32 years of industry experience. He has an unsurpassed history with HVAC systems for multi-family construction. With specializations in military housing throughout the nation and Plan-Spec work, Jim is renowned for bringing in projects on time and within budget. He has received numerous accolades from government contractors for his outstanding, quality workmanship and professionalism in every aspect of HVAC service. Jim is a member of good standing with the Association of Builders & Contractors as well as the International Conference of Building Officials. Catherine Nelson-Chief Financial Officer
Catherine “Cathy” Nelson has served as Atlas Mechanical Chief Financial Officer since the early 90’s, and has 40 years of career expertise in the financial operations of the Real Estate and construction industries. Cathy is one the founding executives whose direct contributions made Atlas and industry leader in the HVAC arena. Cathy's extensive experience in accounting, management, negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, and corporate development has proven instrumental in the company’s success. Her duties include setting budgets, plans, and policies while establishing procedures and priorities to implement and maintain approved plans. She oversees a talented accounting and finance, Human Resources, Legal, and General Administrative teams, many of whom have worked for the company for over 10 years.
She works directly with clients and the company’s principals during the lifecycle of each project through to successful completion. Prior to joining Atlas, Cathy was an Accounting Manager with Merrill Lynch Commercial Real Estate in New York. Cathy’s comprehensive understanding of the financial workings of the construction industry has made her a respected and recognized leader in his field.
Cathy has been a direct influence in the development of the fundamental policies and procedures at formed Atlas Mission Statement of being the Contractor of Choice, Customer of Choice, and Employer of Choice is always the number one priority.
